Mrs. Ziel's clothing students have been working on a sweatshirt project and went on a field trip to purchase fabric. They did a great job budgeting and will soon be ready to start creating their designs! Also, the foods class made calzones and the hallways smelled delicious! They practiced working with yeast and dough.

This week was National World Language Week and our Central Campus World Language teachers celebrated together with activities and matching shirts!

Attend the Athletic Booster meeting on Monday, March 9 at 6 p.m. in the Central Campus ARC. The athletic boosters are seeking new members to help work with fellow athlete families to plan events, buy/sell spirit wear, and raise money for student athletes!

This week, our principal and asst. superintendent for curriculum and instruction presented on the ACT to students during their resource. Students learned about the format, tips for being prepared on test day, optional prep workshops and more. We hope to set our students up for success!

Join us for the JJC Next Step Day at MCHS on April 9th from 9-11 a.m. This event helps students transition smoothly into their college journey, offering valuable insights and resources. During this event, JJC will have representation or information from Testing Services, Academic Advising, and Scholarships offices available so students will know exactly where they are in the process and what their next steps are. Students must have a JJC ID number and sign up with your counselor or in the ARC by March 26th.

Congratulations to Jillian N. who received a positive referral! Nominated by Mr. Harrison, a student in class was nervous about taking a test that they had missed. Jill took it upon herself to go over and sit next to the student and help her review for the test. She was very positive with the nervous student and reassured her that she could do it. Way to step up and help a fellow student! #mchsproud

The Math Team competed at the ICTM Regional Competition on Saturday at JJC and had a lot of success placing 4th as a team! Congratulations to the following students and state qualifiers:

Last week, Mrs. Grzetich's AP English Literature classes went to the Chicago Shakespeare Theater to see Hamlet. After the show, they participated in a Q&A session with the actors. The students studied Hamlet earlier in the year and it was an amazing opportunity to see the work come to life!
