Congrats to our Math Team who competed in the ICTM Regional Math Contest at JJC this past weekend. They earned the following awards: Freshman/Sophomore 8 Person Team - 3rd place (Vanessa Beruman, Jenna Hu, Kate Tadel, Sam Thomas, CJ Walton, Noa Johnson, Jessica Robbins, and Jayden Sola); Calculator Team - 3rd place (Vanessa Beruman, Jenna Hu, Kate Tadel, CJ Walton, Jessica Robbins, Ayden Hollingsworth, Oyu Naranjargal); Oral Team - 2nd place (Sophia Benedick and Weston Lorenz); Sam Thomas placed 7th in Algebra 1 and Sophia Benedick placed 5th in Pre-Calculus. On #MinookaMonday, we'd like to feature Ms. Kristen North, CTE teacher and TSA advisor. She's been at MCHS since 1998 and received her bachelor's degree from Illinois State University, master's degree from Olivet Nazarene, master's degree from Walden, and is a National Board Certified Teacher. She enjoys seeing the students progress through high school and beyond and keeps in touch with many former students. She trains and shows three dogs and has 7 Persian cats. She enjoys photography, camping, and traveling in her spare time.

Mrs. Ellie Bell's ASL 1 class learned about the structure of the ear with a neat program called Edible Ear. The MCHS District 111 Foundation funded the project to give students a hands on experience, which made learning this material even more fun.
