Earlier this month, two MCHS students, Vivienne Forte and Evelyn Gonzalez, as part of Grundy Area FFA, participated in the Illinois (State) Envirothon competition and earned 3rd place! This was a team event where they listen to presenters and took a written test and completed a practicum in the areas of Aquatics, Forestry, Soils, Wildlife, and Renewable Energy for a Sustainable Future. A special congratulations to four incredible people selected for our inaugural Distinguished Awards program created to recognize excellence and partnership at MCHS. Mr. Andres Torres was voted to receive the School Spirit Award, Mrs. Adrianna Walker was selected to receive the Staff Member of the Year Award, and Dawn Kirkland and Eileen Kozlowski were selected to receive the Community Partner of the Year Award for their work with the athletic booster club. The Minooka Anglers won Sectionals for the third year in a row! Congratulations to Hayden Host, K.J. Driscoll, and Boat Captain Dave Barney. They finished first and second at sectionals and got both boats down to IHSA state. Best of luck this weekend as they compete for the state championship!
Last night at the Board of Education meeting, sophomore Addie Cailteux was honored for her 4th place finish at the IHSA Wrestling State Tournament.
