This spring, some of our biology classes and anatomy classes had the chance to learn about the life cycles, adaptations, and anatomy of the largest moth found in Illinois, the Polyphemus Moth. The students also had the opportunity to hold an active cocoon of the moth (in which they could feel it twitching inside) and even hold a live Polyphemus Moth. It was an experience of a lifetime.
