On the 25th anniversary, join us as we honor the memory of those lost in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Today is dedicated to remembering those who died and the people who risked their own lives to save others. #PatriotDay #NeverForget

Our Fire Science I classes participated in communication drills focused on forming scene assessments, status reports and directing specific tasks on emergency scenes. We even had crews from Minooka Fire participating and working with the students and guiding class discussions.

Mr. Petrakis' fire science class attended a fire department communications lecture and the students were able to practice how to communicate over radios for the very first time. It was a great, hands-on activity!

Our ASL 4 honors students were able to put their skills to work teaching freshmen through seniors, REACH students, and even MCHS staff sign language in honor of Deaf Awareness Month. The theme of the lesson was Homecoming signs. It was a neat lesson for all!

Congratulations to both our boys and girls teams who took first place in the team competition at Eagle Ridge Disc Golf course in Oswego! Jillian Bean was first overall for the girls, Zeena Zamora took second, and Malia Rogers took third. For the boys, Cameron dela Cruz, Adam Borjon, Cameron Hughes, and Luke Hodapp led our team to the victory. Other participants included Colton Poe, Evan Petrick, Izak Richmond, Jakob Koppers, Logan Cox, Tyler Seaver, and Xaidrien Adams. #mchsproud

Please give a warm welcome to McKai Vann! Mr. Vann was hired as a school social worker at South Campus. He attended University of St. Francis for his BSW and MSW degrees. He has a fiancée and one year old daughter and currently lives in Plainfield. He is happy to be able to help young adults prepare for and transition into the the real world. We are happy to have him!

During the school year, we enact drills that are required by the state to prepare everyone in case of a real emergency. We will practice these September 21-25 with our students and share this schedule so as to inform everyone that these are drills and not a real emergency.

We hosted a grand opening for our brand new, state-of-the-art Career & Technical Education center! This new space houses culinary arts, construction/woodshop, metal shop, welding, automotive, robotics, engineering, and art/floral design. The opportunities for our students are incredible. Thanks to the community for the support!

Happy Labor Day! There is no school and the buildings will be closed on Monday, September 7th. This holiday honors the contributions & achievements of American workers since 1894. Learn more here: https://www.dol.gov/general/laborday/history
