Our Geometry in Construction class took a field trip to our hometown’s lumberyard, Minooka Lumber. The students had an activity in which they had to "build a shed" finding dimensions, calculating pieces needed, and purchasing the lumber. They calculated total costs and wasted material. It was a great real-life experience!
