Congratulations to juniors Aleena Owens and Jorja Juarez who were kind enough to offer to help Ms. Sarah Kozola carry some things from her car when it was raining after school one day. It was very thoughtful. Way to go, Aleena & Jorja! #mchsproud

Congratulations to Mrs. Hannah Keppner who received a grant from the District #111 Foundation for her Spanish class at MCHS. Some of Mrs. Julie Ziel's sewing students worked ahead of schedule and put their new sewing skills to work creating a set of baby onesies into T-shirts for a teacher's daughter. Nice work Mary, Lorelie, and Mackenzie!

On #MinookaMonday, we'd like to feature math teacher, Mr. Jason Allen. He started at MCHS in 2007. He earned his bachelor's degree in actuarial science and master's degree in secondary education from the University of St. Francis. Mr. Allen enjoys the creative outlet afforded through the lesson-planning process and finds it rewarding to see the students grow and master the content. He lives in Minooka and married his wife on a mountain in Ireland. He loves to travel and has been to 30 different countries. He enjoys playing disc golf and coaches the school's team as well as the scholastic bowl team. And, he has never owned a cell phone! We are grateful to Mr. Allen's service to MCHS.

Best of luck to the Girls Volleyball Team who is headed to the sectional semifinals tonight at Pekin High School at 7 p.m.! #mchsproud

Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is November 1-2. This traditionally Mexican holiday is for us to honor and remember those who have passed on. It is a time of joy where families and friends share stories and memories, so that even if they passed on, they will be alive in our hearts. On this holiday, MCHS libraries will be hosting a community ofrenda where staff and students are welcome to bring a picture of a loved one who has passed so that we can all honor and remember. Please bring a picture to either library starting Monday, October 30.

Congratulations to the Girls Volleyball Team who won the regional championship! We are so proud. #mchsproud
