Art students competed in the Southwest Prairie Conference Art Competition hosted by Yorkville High School on Saturday. The work of 11 Art students was entered, and MCHS had 3 ribbon winners. Congratulations to Grace Revis- 2nd Place for Painting, Josie Mihal- Honorable Mention for Painting, and Sam Trybunia- Honorable Mention for Drawing. In addition, seven Art students attended workshops that day to learn new processes and techniques. #mchsproud

We were honored to host nearly 300 senior citizens from our community at our Welcome Reception & Musical Matinee featuring the spring musical, Beauty and the Beast! We enjoyed every moment with this group and are grateful they chose to spend the afternoon with us. Our students did an amazing job and they impressively sold out every show this weekend. The Nutrition and Foods 1 class had fun in their pasta lab! They did an amazing job. You'll also notice an ASL student with headphones on who is participating in the "Deaf for a Day" event to understand what it's like to have hearing loss. We are proud of our students!
On #MinookaMonday, we'd like to feature Ms. Becky Nemeth, an English teacher who started at MCHS in 2006. She received her bachelor's degree from Eastern Illinois University and her master's degree from Saint Xavier University. She lives in Lockport and has two kids (age 14 and 11). She enjoys making a difference and teaching her students more than just grammar and writing. She has a thorough understanding of how her students feel and the stressors they experience. She is thankful to be there for her students as they get ready to begin the rest of their lives.
