This week, our freshmen and sophomore students participated in a career activity and were introduced to a new program that allows them to explore post secondary options, assist in college planning and also includes options for non-degree, certification, and trade occupations.

Our number of earned Seal of Biliteracy students is growing! These students get to place the seal on their transcript and diploma that open doors to new job opportunities after graduation. Save the date for our MCHS Career Exploration Fair on October 17! Freshmen and sophomore students will be able to visit with 75+ industry professionals from the surrounding communities as they learn more about their college and/or career paths. During the school year, we enact drills that are required by the state to prepare everyone in case of a real emergency. We will practice these September 9-13 with our students and share this schedule so as to inform everyone that these are drills and not a real emergency.

Congratulations to freshman Kara McGinnis and sophomore Reagan McReynolds for receiving positive referrals from the Deans' Office! They bought a student in the REACH program a gift to wish her luck with her upcoming surgery. The Minooka soccer program will be partnering with local organization Chanooka Wish in a sponsored game vs. Waubonsie Valley on September 7. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game. Also, anyone can contribute monetary donations to Chanooka Wish upon entering the soccer complex on game day. They are also hosting a winter warm drive and boxes will be placed as you enter the complex from the pond lot. You can drop gloves for kids, gently used coats, and new pairs of socks in these bins. They will be delivered to local families in need during the winter warm drive. We hope to see you there and appreciate your support!
