Alumnus Joshua Lustro, master cosplay craftsman, credits Mrs. Ziel's sewing class for his costume-making ability. He is pictured here winning the Anime Midwest 2023 Master's Best Prop and he plans to compete at the Anime Midwest 2024 World Crown next year. It's great to see our students put the skills they learn in class at MCHS to use after graduation!
We hosted our Open House last night and invited families to both campuses to meet the teachers and staff as well as walk the buildings. We enjoyed meeting parents and appreciate their dedication to MCHS. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make it a success!
Please give a warm welcome to Mrs. Rebecca Carmack! She is directing JV Madrigals/Jazz Transit and teaches voice lessons. She lives in Coal City with her husband and obtained her Bachelor of Music from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in Music Theory and Composition and her Master of Arts in Choral and Orchestral Conducting from Eastern Illinois University. She is currently working on a second Master of Arts in Music and Liturgy at Alverno College. She looks forward to working with and making music with the students as well as working with Mr. Benware and participating in her first Madrigal Dinner! #MinookaMonday

The 2018-19 boys varsity bowling team had the highest place at state ever for the program. They won the SPC conference and then placed 2nd at regionals, 1st at sectionals, and placed 2nd at state. Congratulations to KJ Driscoll and Hayden Host who won the statewide tournament (ICASSTT) at Lake Springfield this past weekend. There were 80 boats from across the state competing. Their winning weight was 12.5 pounds and was anchored by a giant 6.25 pound giant Illinois bass! They are currently tied for first in the Illinois Angler of the Year standings. #mchsproud
