(Minooka, IL) – U.S. News & World Report recently released its 2026-2027 Best High Schools rankings, and Minooka Community High School (MCHS) was recognized on three lists in the report.
Lists on which MCHS is recognized include:
National Rankings – 6,319 out of 17,945 (65thpercentile nationally);
Illinois High Schools – 239 out of 984 (76th percentile statewide), and
Chicago, Illinois Metro Area High Schools – 183 out of 474 (61st percentile locally).
“We are incredibly proud of this recognition. We saw significant growth in our rankings this year, which is most certainly a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our staff. Our strong academic curriculum including AP courses and scores, proficiency, and college-readiness of our students is validated from organizations such as U.S. News & World Report,” MCHS Superintendent Dr. Robert Schiffbauer said.
U.S. News & World Report (U.S. News) has been publishing school rankings in the education sector since 1983. The Best High Schools rankings identify the country’s top-performing public high schools. The goal is to provide a clear, unbiased picture of how well public schools serve all their students – from the highest to lowest achieving – in preparing them to demonstrate proficiency in basic skills as well as readiness for college-level work.
