(Minooka, IL) – U.S. News & World Report recently released its 2025-2026 Best High Schools rankings, and Minooka Community High School (MCHS) was recognized on three lists in the report.

Lists on which MCHS is recognized includes:

• National Rankings – 7,114 out of 17,901 (39thpercentile nationally);
• Illinois High Schools – 239 out of 715 (33rd percentile statewide), and
• Chicago, Illinois Metro Area High Schools – 180 out of 363 (49th percentile locally).

“We are incredibly proud of this recognition. Maintaining our strong ranking reflects the hard work and dedication of our faculty and staff. Our strong academic curriculum, proficiency, and college-readiness of our students is certainly validated from organizations such as U.S. News & World Report,” MCHS Superintendent Dr. Robert Schiffbauer said.

U.S. News & World Report (U.S. News) has been publishing school rankings in the education sector since 1983. The Best High Schools rankings identify the country’s top-performing public high schools. The goal is to provide a clear, unbiased picture of how well public schools serve all of their students – from the highest to lowest achieving – in preparing them to demonstrate proficiency in basic skills as well as readiness for college-level work.
