![]() It is the responsibility of Minooka Community High School District #111 to educate individuals in a nurturing, learning environment of students, staff, and community, so that upon graduation students will possess the selfesteem, knowledge, skills, and values necessary to accept social responsibility, to succeed in today’s world and to meet tomorrow’s expectations. We believe: 2. That students, staff, teachers and community members are all teachers and learners and should be provided a positive environment that supports innovation, and fosters self-discipline, responsibility, creativity and problem solving. 3. That students, staff, teachers and the community should have a physical facility that is safe, clean, self-maintained and is flexible enough to meet the changing educational needs of the district. 4. That students, staff, teachers and community should have the opportunity, as learners, to be continuously renewed. 5. That the school is central to the community and that all members of the community are teachers and learners who should be welcomed as partners in the educational process. 6. That education should be adequately funded while being held accountable for the best use of available resources. 7. That learning should address “real world” issues through innovative programming and methodology, while emphasizing problem solving and critical thinking. 8. That all areas of the curriculum must address the “world culture.” |
