Musicians Named to All-Conference Bands

(Minooka) - Twenty-one Minooka Community High School musicians were recently named to the 2018 Southwest Prairie Conference All-Conference Festival Bands (the Freshman/Sophomore Festival Band and the Junior/Senior Festival Band). These students will rehearse with their all-conference peers throughout the day on February 20th at Plainfield South High School, and then will perform in the PSHS auditorium at 7 p.m. that evening.

Freshman/Sophomore Festival Band honorees:
- Cienna Cooper - Clarinet
- Zach Eyer - Tuba
- Kade Frieders - Trumpet
- Miranda Gierman - Clarinet
- Matthew Kostbade - Percussion
- Nicholas Loychik - Bassoon
- Kellan Moss - Tenor Saxophone
- Abigail Pettigrew - Flute
- Kristin Scott - Horn
- Hailee Wilmoth - Flute

Junior/Senior Festival Band honorees:
- Nicholas Curatolo - Percussion
- Kenneth Guldenbecker - Horn
- Isabelle Jasper - Tuba
- Joshua Beck - Trombone
- Gina Russell - Flute
- Giovanny Sanchez - Tenor Saxophone
- Nicholas Szambelan - Euphonium
- Faith Taylor - Clarinet
- Rachel Troksa - Trumpet
- Christian Wells - Contra Alto Clarinet
- Elisa Wynn - Clarinet

Guest conductors for the festival bands include Brian Logan, director of bands at Vandercook College of Music (Freshman/Sophomore Festival Band), and Jim Hile, retired director of bands from Highland Park High School (Junior/Senior Festival Band).
