NHS Inductees

(Minooka) - The Minooka Community High School chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) hosted their annual induction ceremony on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, in the MCHS - Central Campus Performing Arts Center.

The evening included a welcome by current NHS president Matthew Schofield, opening remarks by MCHS Principal Ronald Kiesewetter, a piano duet by MCHS seniors Emma Wiegmann and Luke VanDrie, and the induction ceremony. Also, MCHS alumnus Jessica Boese (Class of 2000) was the evening’s guest speaker.

Officers: Matthew Schofield - President, Theo Benig - Vice-President, Chloe Moreno - Secretary, Christopher Ward - Treasurer, Rachel Kirkolis - Historian, and Isabelle Jasper - Community Relations.

NHS selection occurs during the first semester of the junior and senior year and is based on applicant performance in four key areas: scholarship, service, leadership, and character. A majority vote from the MCHS NHS Faculty Council is needed for selection. Once they are inducted into NHS, members must remain consistently active in both school and the community.

MCHS science teacher Donna is the NHS sponsor, and MCHS science teacher Anthony Babich is the assistant NHS sponsor.
