Is your web site reliable???

1. Look at the URL up to the first "/".
tip: don't use another student's paper in yours (if you see "edu" or "k12" in the address, make sure it is not another student's paper)
tip: evaluate carefully if it is a personal page - no organization behind it (if you see any of these in the address, it may be a personal page: ~, %, members, aol, geocities, users, tripod, AOL, or personal names (lwright, tsmith, etc.)
tip: What type of organization is behind it?
Domains: non-profit (org); univ/college (edu); govt(gov, mil,us); business (com); anyone (net); foreign (uk, jp, de, etc.)

2. Who authored it? The name of a person or organization is not enough!
tip: Find out about them - look for an about page or mission statement (find out what they say) and google the author/organization (find out what others say).

3. When was the page created/last updated?

4. What was the author's purpose?

5. Is the information documented with weblinks to sources (most common) or a bibliography?
