getting to the library
before and after school (no pass required) Everyone is welcome. Please sign in at the entrance to the computer lab. senior "release time" (no pass required) Seniors not in a class during the regular school day ("release time"), do not need a pass. At the library, please report to the attendance desk. You will need to show your school ID, for attendance. during your lunch period (no pass required) No pass is required. You can spend a part of or all your lunch period in the library. from your resource class (resource pass or planner pass required) Both the resource pass and the planner pass allow you to remain in the library for your entire resource class. resource pass These guarantee you access to computers ahead of anyone on a planner pass should we not have enough available. 1. Get a resource pass from your classroom teacher (not your resource teacher). 2. Report to your resource class as usual. Your resource teacher will sign your pass and excuse you to the library. 3. At the library, please report to the attendance desk. You will need to give your resource pass to the library aide and show your school ID, for attendance. Your resource pass will remain at the attendance desk until you leave the library. Before you return to class, the time will be stamped on your resource pass. planner pass 1. books: 3 weeks, renewable unless there is a hold magazines: 3 weeks, except the most current magazine reference books: overnight only video digit cameras for a class assignment: 2 days ($5 deposit ) still digital cameras for a class assignment: 2 days ($5 deposit ) overdue fines books & magazines: 10 cents per school day reference books: $1 per school day video digital cameras: $5 per school day still digital cameras: $5 per school day checking out books from South Library All students and faculty may checkout books from either Central or South Library. Books move daily between the South and Central Library. This means you may checkout a book from either library and return a book to either library. In addition, let a librarian know if you would like a book sent from South library for you to pick up at Central Library. Books are usually ready for you to checkout from Central Library the next day. interlibrary loan
All students and faculty may request books from other libraries be sent to Central Library. The books can then be checked out on your MCHS student ID. It usually takes one week to get books from other libraries. Simply let Mrs. Friant or Ms. Wright know the title/author of the book (use PrairieCat to find those books) you want us to request and we'll let you know when it arrives. available to purchase at the central library
