About the District

Minooka Community High School District 111 is a mid-sized school district located in the far southwest suburb of Chicago. The district, which encompasses 90+ square miles, is largely composed of the communities of Minooka and Channahon, and also includes portions of Shorewood and Joliet. for a map of our district. Curriculum
Minooka Community High School offers students a perse and comprehensive curriculum that prepares students to pursue a college degree, attend technical school, join the military, enter an apprenticeship program, or join the workforce immediately after high school.

Enrollment
In the mid- to late-2000s, the District's enrollment grew at a rapid rate. However, downturns in the economy and real estate market began to impact student enrollment beginning in 2011.

Schools
Minooka Community High School District #111 includes two campuses. MCHS - South Campus in Channahon houses our freshmen and sophomore students, and MCHS - Central Campus in Minooka houses our junior and senior students. The district also includes an alternative school, Project Indian, located in Minooka.

Staff
Minooka Community High School currently employs approximately 178 certified staff (teachers, counselors, social workers, and school psychologists), 67 support staff (42 full-time and 25 part-time), and 13 administrators (district-level administrators, building-level administrators, and Instructional Leaders).
