(Minooka) – Congratulations are extended to senior Nicholas Welsh, son of Lynn Purdy and Richard Welsh of Channahon, for being named the Channahon-Minooka Rotary Club “Student of the Month” for December.

In the classroom, Nicholas maintains a 4.4 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). Outside the classroom, Nicholas participates in several extra-curricular activities, including Future Business Leaders of America, Student Council, Junior Statesmen of America, Marching Band, Pit Orchestra, National Honor Society, and Spanish National Honor Society. He has also been named an Illinois State Scholar and has received the MCHS Band Leadership Award.

Nicholas plans to attend the University of Chicago next fall, but is undecided on a major.
