Minooka Community High School Teachers Awarded Educational Grants through ECOLAB

(Minooka) – Congratulations are in order for MCHS teachers David Belden (social studies) and Joe Urbelis (science) on being named winners of ECOLAB’s 2007 “Visions for Learning” Grant Program.

Belden was awarded a grant for $1,165 toward a publication project on which his local history class is working.  Urbelis was awarded a grant for $1,094 toward the purchase of six stereomicroscopes.  Both teachers and representatives of ECOLAB were invited to the MCHS District 111 Board of Education’s meeting on September 6, 2007, for public recognition.

Belden, who has been awarded several grants from ECOLAB thanked the company for its continued support.

“These grants allow for so much more to take place in the classroom,” Belden said.  “Your support continues to make a difference for our students.”

The representatives from ECOLAB will also be invited back to MCHS to observe Belden and Urbelis’s classes once they are working on lessons supported by their grants.
