Minooka Community High School Announces Cast for "The Lady of the House"

(Minooka) - Minooka Community High School proudly presents the comedy “The Lady of the House” by Jim Brochu on Friday, November 2, and Saturday, November 3, 2007. Tickets for both performances will go on sale later this month at MCHS.

The cast for “The Lady of the House” includes: Paula Bernhard as Didi Mayflower, Eric Reynolds as Rep. William Mayflower, Lacey Bersano as Irene Mayflower, Alexaxndra Pocta as Ilona Frederickson, Amy Strohman as Evelyn Sosnowski, Mitch Pursell as Marshall Bronson, Nathan Zarazinski as David Gallagher, Connor Sewing as Gov. Hawley, Juli Puoci as Edna, Warren Daily as Paul Starkey, Sean O’Brien as Claude Beecham, Meredith Sharpe as Henrietta Smith, Brent Barnes as Starkey/Marine, D.J. Valera as Robin/Marine, Josh Hiscock as Buster/Bishop McGovern, Jake Breunig as Spkr. of the House/Debutante’s Date, Marty Rahn as Band Ldr./Gavin, John Bond as Mr. Avery/Sec. of the House, Emily Kratz as Cyndy/Dancer, Amanda Dobrowski as Barbara/Dancer, Kendall Roy as Debutante, Tori Feeney as Reporter/Ovington, Carla Kundert as Stage Mgr./Nurse, Mia McConaughy as Moderator, and Kyra Salamon as Iggy. Patricia Grawey-Beeler is the director, Kate Karner is the student director, and Stephanie Engel is the assistant student director.

“The Lady of the House” tells the story of former Broadway star and queen of the Washington social circuit, Didi Montgomery Mayflower, as she succeeds her deceased husband in the House of Representatives. Although she takes the job only to fill out her late husband’s term, she soon sees that she can make a difference and becomes a force for political change. Didi speaks against a poll tax proposed by two of the House’s most powerful members and decides to run for Congress in her own right, which causes a head-on collision with her son-in-law, Marshall Bronson, who is also running for the seat.
