School Day Schedule Set for Minooka Community High School District 111 (Minooka) During its regular meeting on March 20, 2008, the Minooka Community High School District 111 Board of Education voted on the approval of the school day schedule for the 2008-2009 school year, which will be the first in which the district will operate according to a “2-2” or “split-campus” configuration. The district’s freshman and sophomores will attend classes at a new campus in Channahon, while juniors and seniors will attend classes at the existing campus in Minooka. According to the schedule, regular school days at the freshman/sophomore campus in Channahon will begin at 7:45 a.m. Regular school days at the junior/senior campus in Minooka will begin at 8 a.m. Ending times of regular school days for both campuses will be determined after other details regarding the overall school day have been finalized. The district’s transportation plans for the school year include two district-wide runs each school day - one in the morning and one in the afternoon. After all scheduled pick-ups are completed, the morning run will conclude with a stop at the freshman/sophomore campus for a student drop-off, and then a stop at the junior/senior campus for a second drop-off. The afternoon run will begin with a student pick-up at the freshman/sophomore campus, followed by a student pick-up at the junior/senior campus before heading out for scheduled stops. The afternoon transportation schedule also meets the transportation needs of students who plan to participate in extra-curricular activities at the junior/senior campus. There will also be a limited number of transportation runs between campuses during the school day for the purpose of allowing students to take certain courses that will only be offered at one campus or the other. The first day of classes for the 2008-2009 school year at Minooka Community High School District 111 is scheduled for Thursday, August 14, 2008. # # # |
