Minooka Community High School Students Named to All-Conference Band
(Minooka) – Twenty-two members of the Minooka Community High School band program were recently selected as members of the Southwest Prairie Conference All-Conference band, and performed with their All-Conference peers in the SPC Band Festival on February 20, 2008, at Plainfield Central High School. Approximately 170 students from the eight schools in the Southwest Prairie Conference participated in the event. Each school’s band director nominated students in his or her program for the honor.
The MCHS members of the SPC Freshman/Sophomore Honor Band included: freshmen Anthony Abbonato, Bryan Bolan, and Hannah Knorr; and sophomores Andrea Aguilera, John Bond, Denine Cochran, Zach Friant, Alex Halaska, Melissa Hallihan, and Joe Phipps.
The MCHS members of the SPC Junior/Senior Honor Band included: juniors Greg Alexander, Bryan Alonso, Aaron Andrews, Paula Bernhard, and Alec Jones; and seniors Stephanie Adamkiewicz, Mia Bryan, Amanda Dobrowsky, Christina Donisch, Jill Lagerstrom, Travis MacNichol, and Kyla Smith.
The MCHS band program is under the direction of Rick Anderson.
