Minooka Community High School to Offer Summer Driver Education Course

(Minooka) - Minooka Community High School will once again offer a driver education course this summer for area teenagers.  The course is open to students who are fifteen years old, who live within the boundaries of MCHS District 111, and who have completed at least eight high school credit hours.  The course is limited to 100 students. 

There are two components to the course.  The classroom component of the course is scheduled from Monday, June 2 through Friday, June 27, and the behind the wheel component of the course will begin on Monday, June 2 and will end no later than Friday, July 18. 

MCHS students may register for summer driver education with their high school counselors.  Non-MCHS students may request a registration application by contacting Bert Kooi at 521-2338 or by visiting www.mchs.net.  The application and a non-refundable $250 registration fee are due by Friday, April 4 and should be mailed to Bert Kooi at Minooka Community High School, which is located at 301 South Wabena Avenue in Minooka, IL 60447.  A mandatory meeting for parents and students enrolled in this summer driver education course will be held on Tuesday, April 22 at 7 p.m. in the Minooka Community High School Performing Arts Center.
