Minooka Community High School to Offer Meningitis Vaccine to Seniors

(Minooka) – The Grundy County Health Department will be offering the Menactra vaccine to Minooka Community High School seniors on Thursday, February 7, 2008, at MCHS.  The vaccine, which is recommended for students planning to live in dormitories at college and is being supplied through the Illinois Department of Public Health Vaccine for Children Program, costs $10 per student.  Information regarding eligibility requirements for this program will be mailed this month to senior students and will also be available in the MCHS nurse’s office.  Please note that MCHS juniors who will be graduating in May 2008 are also eligible for the vaccine (call MCHS school nurse Karen Aldworth at 467-2140, ext. 131 for more information).  Registrations for this vaccination are due to the MCHS Nurse’s Office by January 31, 2008.  For additional information, please contact the Grundy County Health Department at 941-3417.
