Winter sports dates

Looking
for something to do this winter?
Have nothing to do after school?
Why not join a winter sport at MCHS?
During
the winter months, MCHS offers sports that could easily apply to your
interests. There is boys and girls
bowling, boys and girls basketball, and wrestling that all start in November.
Boys
bowling practice takes place every day after school, and practice began on Oct.
23. Mr. Derrik Rapsky, math, is
the coach for the boys bowling team.
Boys
basketball begins practice on Nov. 6.
The varsity coach for boys basketball is Mr. Jon Monti, science, with
the assistant coach being Mr. Jason Boe, P.E. The sophomore coaches are Mr. Kevin Murphy, social studies,
and Mr. Nick Lundin, P.E. The
freshmen coach is Mr. Kevin Gummerson, social studies, and the assistant coach
is Mr. Keith Kiper.
Girls
bowling begins practicing on Nov. 6.
The coach is Mr. Frank Yudzentis, P.E., and the assistant coach is Mr.
Michael Resner, math.
Girls
basketball began practicing Oct. 30, with Mr. Ray Liberatore, counselor, as the
varsity coach. Mrs. Kelly Bolero,
REACH teacher, is the assistant coach.
The sophomore coach is Tammy Tischieda, and the freshmen coaches are Mr.
Rob Torchia and Mr. Joe Host, P.E.
Wrestling,
a very popular sport here at MCHS begins practice on Nov. 6. The coaches for varsity wrestling
include Mr. Bernie Ruettiger, dean of students, Mr. Paige Schoolman, career and
technology, and Mr. Stan Tischer, counselor. The sophomore coach is Mr. Cory Dillion, campus monitor, and
the freshmen coaches are Mr. Mike Butterbach, math, and Mr. Jim Manthey.
All
in all, MCHS offers a variety of sports that students of all grades can easily
get involved in. This winter, why
not try something new? If you are
interested, listen to the morning announcements for tryout dates, informational
meetings, and more practice times.
